*All LavaBoxes will naturally patina over time. Fire changes things. To lock in a nice patina or beautiful rust, grab a rattle can of Rust-o-leum Clear High Heat Engine Enamel from your local hardware store.
*Please allow 5-7 Business Days for our “team” (Rumpelstiltskin's entire extended family) to build your box and get it out the door. They are not as fast on LavaBoxes as they are on the spinning wheel.
Color & Finish
Guaranteed to be an exact factory match or custom finish depending on your choice. Finish is Gloss unless otherwise specified or requested. Digital imagery may not accurately reflect colors so if you are undecided or unsure, please order a color sample.
We do not accept returns for wrong color choice. One year warranty on paint finish excluding scratches and chips related to normal wear and tear.
Order Processing & Shipping
Items are custom painted when the order is placed. Please allow a minimum of 14-21 days for order processing. Select items such as color samples are typically in stock and ready to ship. Please refer to our shipping policy for further information.
FAQ's
How does your trim compare to others?
Unlike pre-colored plastic trim, our trim is OEM or aftermarket ABS raw plastic that is custom painted and clear coated for durability.
Will it fade??
No. We use high quality automotive paints and clears from the most reputable suppliers. Trim can be glossy or matte and will keep it's sheen and color for as long as you own your vehicle!
Does it hold up and stay on well?
When properly applied, using our recommendations, our trim will stay on until you want it off. We've put it to the test ourselves in many conditions including pressure washing, highway speeds, off-roading, and even a hurricane!
Will it affect airbag or other safety features?
No. Our trim is a lightweight overlay that adheres to your existing trim. It in no way impedes the original trim's features or functions including it's ability to break away such as for airbag deployment.
Do I send you my parts?
No. With the exception of one of a few OEM items we carry, all of our trim is applied, not installed. You leave your vehicle just as it is, and apply our trim over top of your existing trim. It can be removed anytime you want and will not harm your original trim.
How do you apply and/or remove it?
Our trim is super EASY to apply and remove. We have videos and instructions available on our website and our Youtube channel.
What if you don't have the color I want?
We have over 100 factory and custom solids, pearls, candies, metallics and color shifts. If we don't have what you're looking for, we take custom requests!
Why not paint it myself?
It's definitely not as easy as it may look! Rattle can or spray paint doesn't give the same color and sheen especially with pearls and metallics and canned clear is not the same as a two part clear. Check our our blog for more information.
